Google just announced that it has improved the technology for self-driving cars to better navigate the daily chaos of driving in a city. The company claims that robotic cars could save 30,000 lives, prevent over 2m driving-related injuries and reduce accident-related expenses by at least $400bn a year in the US. Google's car has gone 300,000 miles without any accidents, but is that enough to convince you to let go of the wheel?
